A Celebration of Opera and Musical Favourites

The Momentum charity opera gala on Sunday 9th October, at the Landmark Arts Centre in Teddington, was a complete sell-out! The concert, devised and conducted by Stephen Harris, featured top soloists, Gail Pearson (Soprano), Jean Rigby (Mezzo Soprano), David Kempster (Baritone) and the 'Three Other Tenors' - Michael Clifton-Thompson, Philip Lloyd Holtam and Howard Kirk.  They were accompanied by Simon Phillippo on piano.

The evening began with an introduction from actor Michael Simkins.  The soloists then began a varied repertoire of operatic and musical favourites and were joined by a fabulous chorus, comprising members of top international opera companies.  The finale of the first half was Mozart's 'Ave Verum' which was sung by the Tiffin Girls ' School Chamber Choir, who are from the well known local Kingston School. The school choir was directed by David Pim.

This wonderful evening raised a total of £5,907 and the profit from the event will be put towards the setting-up costs for our second Momentum holiday home at Shorefield Country Park in the New Forest.
